In 1998, Neil Creative Media
Inc., suggested to Richard Lehmann a client and president of
StampFinder.com, that they register the domain name www.Stamps.net
because it was available and that we use it to initiate a national
online magazine for stamp collectors. Richard immediately registered
the site and, in effect, purchased one of the most valuable stamp
collecting-related domains on the Internet.
Within six months, Stamps.net
had been designed by Neil Creative Media Inc., and Randy Neil was
installed as its editor. The chief purposes of stamps.net was to
disseminate as many breaking philatelic news stories as we could
discover---as well provide an online "how to do it" resource center
for beginning and youth stamp collectors. Also: Provide good writers
who would author articles on a broad range of philatelic subject
matters and Offer a "fun place" where people could discover the
world of stamp collecting and find out as much about it as possible.
Finally, the goal was to cover as much as possible the "people" of
philately and make it a place where individuals in the hobby could
be publicly recognize and keep the website updated so people would
keep coming back.
After mid-2002, Richard Lehmann
began to pull away from his StampFinder.com firm and his philatelic
activities and, in essence, began to lose interest in Stamps.net and
philately in general. Neil Creative Media Inc. ceased working for
Lehmann at that time and Stamps.net went into a dormant period.
However, on November 2, 2005
Champion Stamp Company Inc. acquired the domain and content of
Stamps.net from Richard Lehmann (with support from Neil Creative
Media Inc. and Servers Inc.). We are in the process of revising the
website, giving it a smooth new look and feel. In addition, we will
keep the integrity of its original purpose to have free information
about stamp news, collecting and everything related to the stamp
market. We plan on giving stamps.net an impressive backbone of
content and have editorials from some of the hobbies most
influential figures. In addition, we are tapping into a vast
resource of contributors for the website. The mission of Stamps.net
is to become the Premiere Online Stamp Collecting Magazine and to
have the most current happenings in the industry here for everyone
to read freely.
