The
American Philatelic Society Board of Directors has
chosen Wade Saadi of New York City as its president. The
election was held by the Society's board, under mandate
from its bylaws, following the death of president Nick
Carter.
Mr.
Saadi is a successful---and several times honored---New
York City businessman with a serious record of
achievement within the ranks of philatelic leadership in
the United States. Combined with an established record
in the business and financial worlds, his background is
particularly suited for the APS who, at this point in
its history, needs to rely on such acumen. He is a former
president of the Collectors Club of New York and is the
current president of the U.S. Philatelic Classics
Society.
The
Society's new president leaves his role as chairman of
the APS Board of Vice Presidents. He will be replaced on
the Society's disciplinary triumvirate by Nick Lombardi.
