The
board of directors of the American Stamp Dealers
Association decided to make a radical change when an
opening occurred in the office of their Executive Vice
President, the person who is in charge of the
organization's business operations. Under president
Eric Jackson,
the board broadly advertised the job opening and
specified that they wanted to hire someone with actual
association management experience.
That's
why they chose
Matt Hansen,
in his mid-40s, a man who actually comes from a family
that once operated a firm that specialized in
association management. Matt was hired officially right
after the ASDA's spring Postage Stamp Mega Event in New
York City in mid-March...after "getting his feet wet" by
helping Acting Executive Director Joe Savarese at the
show. Joe was quite excited as Matt appeared to love the
experience!
Though
not a stamp collector of dealer, Matt's professional
experience and enthusiasm make him very much the right
man for the job. He plans on finding out everything he
can about our hobby and its dealer and collector
community. We welcome him and wish him well!
